Danica Oparnica

I am a psychiatric nurse practitioner and am currently in my 33rd year of practice with a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Nursing and membership in the Nurse’s Honor Society. I love what I do and take a genuine interest in my clients. It is very fulfilling to watch people get better and attain their highest level of functioning. I use a collaborative approach with my clients and strive for excellence. Although I am trained in therapy and always do some counseling when I see patients, my specialty areas are diagnosis and medication management. I am board certified in psychiatry.

I see patients with all diagnoses but especially like to work with bipolar disorder, PTSD, ADHD and depression/anxiety. In my early career I was fortunate to have had two exceptional mentors. I believe in “payback” so I now mentor NP interns with whom you may be scheduled. I always supervise these visits and the treatment planing.

I like working with the LGBT community who all too often have lost family ties and support. I also have experience working with veterans who are suffering from PTSD and get great satisfaction helping them to deal with and tame the torments from which they may be suffering.
